What Clients Say
Reflections from people we've worked with

I came in not knowing whether I had any legal standing in Thailand at all — my situation involved assets in two countries and a marriage registered abroad. The consultation gave me a genuinely clear picture. It wasn't what I was hoping to hear in every respect, but it was accurate, and that mattered more. I went away knowing what my options actually were.

My wife and I used the agreement drafting service when we were formalising our arrangement about the family home. The process was slower than I expected — probably three weeks in total — but I think that was partly because we asked for several revisions. The final document felt genuinely right for our situation, not just a template with our names on it.

Court matters in a foreign country, in a language I don't speak well, involving my children — I was not in a calm frame of mind when I arrived. What I found was a practitioner who was quite matter-of-fact about the complexity and didn't seem rattled by it. The case took eight months. I was kept informed throughout. The outcome was, I think, as good as it could have been.

I used the consultation service before deciding whether to proceed with a formal matter at all. The advice I received was honest — including about what I might not achieve even if I did proceed. It helped me make a decision I felt settled about, which turned out to be not to proceed. I think that took courage on their part to say plainly.

We engaged Reun Counsel to draft an arrangement concerning our son — custody-related, though we were not in a contested position. The document they produced was thoughtful. It covered circumstances we hadn't thought to address ourselves. My only note would be that the office communication could be slightly faster outside of scheduled sessions.

I was represented through a full court matter over about seven months. I want to say specifically: I was never left wondering what was happening. Every hearing, I received a message or call after. Every time something significant was filed, I was told in advance. That consistency made a very difficult period significantly more bearable.

Case Studies
How matters have unfolded in practice
The following are composite accounts drawn from client matters, with identifying details changed or omitted.
Case Study 01 — Domestic Agreement
The situation
Two spouses with a significant property in Bangkok and a second property in the wife's home province. They had different views on how each should be managed and eventually transferred. No formal written arrangement existed, and the situation was becoming a point of tension.
What we did
After an initial briefing session with both parties, we prepared a draft agreement covering the management, use, and eventual disposition of both properties under different scenarios. We revised the document through two rounds of consultation over approximately three weeks.
The outcome
A signed agreement both parties described as reflecting their actual intentions. The process also surfaced a third issue — regarding a business interest — that they subsequently addressed separately. Duration: four weeks from first meeting to signing.
"We hadn't expected the process to surface things we hadn't thought about. It was uncomfortable in the moment, but the final document was better for it."
Case Study 02 — Family Court Representation
The situation
An expatriate client facing a contested custody matter involving children who had dual nationality. The opposing party was legally represented. The client had no prior experience with Thai court proceedings and limited knowledge of family law in Thailand.
What we did
We began with an extended consultation session to establish a clear picture of the legal position. We then prepared the necessary filings, attended all hearings over a six-month period, coordinated with a witness on the client's behalf, and maintained regular communication throughout.
The outcome
A court order reflecting the client's primary objective regarding primary care. A secondary element remained unresolved pending a further hearing. Duration from engagement to initial order: six months. The client described feeling "not alone in it" throughout the process.
"I didn't always understand the system, but I always understood where I was in it. That made a significant difference."
Case Study 03 — Consultation Leading to Clarity
The situation
A client who had been informally separated for two years and was unsure whether their existing informal arrangements regarding the family home had any legal standing. They were also unsure whether they needed to formalise anything at all before proceeding with their lives independently.
What we did
A single ninety-minute consultation session, in which we reviewed the relevant elements of their situation and explained clearly which arrangements had legal effect and which did not. We also outlined what steps would and would not be legally necessary given their specific circumstances.
The outcome
The client decided that no further formal action was necessary for their situation. They had clarity where previously they had uncertainty. No further engagement was required. Total time: ninety minutes. This is a legitimate and complete outcome in our view.
"I came in not knowing if I had a problem. I left knowing I didn't, which was genuinely a relief."
